Initial Odometer
If you can't provide the initial odometer reading within 15 days of your policy start date, we'll charge you based on the average miles ridden for a bike like yours. This will continue until you upload your initial odometer reading.
Subsequent Odometer
You'll get reminders via email and text with a link to upload your updated odometer photo at mid-policy (after 6 months) and at the end of your policy (after a full year). Once you upload it, you'll be charged based on the actual miles you rode.
If we don't receive your photo within 15 days, we'll charge you based on a default mileage of up to 500 miles a month, minus any miles you've already been charged for in previous months.
But no worries! If you upload your odometer photo later and show you rode fewer miles, we'll refund the difference.
Example:
Steve Jones has a policy with an $8 fixed monthly rate and a 10¢ per mile rate. He estimated he'd ride 1,200 miles a year. His first monthly payment is $18 (that's $8 fixed rate + $10 for 100 estimated miles).
After six months, Steve uploads his odometer reading, which shows he rode only 300 miles during that time. Since he paid for more miles than he rode, he gets a refund for the difference.
What if Steve doesn’t upload his odometer?
He’ll be charged for a default mileage of 500 miles a month, minus the 100 miles he already paid for each month (totaling 600 miles). This means he’ll be charged $248. If he uploads his odometer later, he’ll get a refund for any overpaid miles.
